2Zzzzz-ombieland  Mar 09, 2010
When I saw the previews for this movie online and on TV, I was really looking forward to it and pegged it as a theater-worthy viewing. I never got around to seeing it in the theater, and I got lucky.

Now, this isn't a bad movie per se, but there isn't a lot that it has going for it either. It was billed as a zombie comedy along the lines of Shaun of the Dead, but it's not funny. Woody Harrelson brandishes plenty of weapons, but it's not an action movie and for all the zombies, it's definitely not a horror movie.

There are just too many things that brought this film down to where I really wanted to see it and then when I saw it I kind of wished I hadn't wasted my time:

-- Jesse Eisenberg is extremely annoying in this movie. I know he's supposed to be, but it's not the kind of annoying where you're like, 'He's doing a good job of being annoying.' It's more like, 'Dammit, he's so frickin' annoying!' It's one of the reasons why the movie has so little payoff. If you hate the main character, then why would his love interest not feel the same way?

-- If everyone is a zombie and there is no human flesh to feed on save the four people in a Hummer, then how exactly do the zombies survive? Don't they die of starvation? I know they're the undead, but surely the undead eat too?

-- Why exactly do they need to go to Pacific Playland? To ride rollercoasters? To find some form of the innocence and carefree attitude they had before the epidemic? The one thing that supposedly drives the movie forward is this paradise of Pacific Playland, but there's no appraent reason why that is.

-- The music is pretty lame. I like Metallica and I love Doves and Black Keys, but their music doesn't fit in here, especially in the scenes where the music is used.

Not the worst movie I've ever seen (that would be Max Payne or The Avenging Disco Godfather), but most certainly not the best.

The best zombie movie ever and one of my favorite comedies. One to watch over and over.

5Funniest Movie This Year  Mar 09, 2010
This movie not only looks and sounds great on Blu-Ray, but this flick is funny as $@#*!!!!!
No spoilers, but there's a guest that really amps up the laughs and the over the top performances are spot on, never going too far into camp. My family was laughing out loud through most of the movie. Zombies for laughs like Shaun of the Dead, Revenge of the Living Dead and the Evil Dead movies. BUT..... this is the new generation, funnier and more extreme. LOVED IT!!!!!!

1Dumbest zombie movie since Lou Diamond Phillips' Route 666  Mar 09, 2010
I know zombie movies are just supposed to be harmless fun that you suspend disbelief somewhat to enjoy, but how did these girls manage to operate carnival rides while riding them? In a zombie Apocalypse? And why is the electricity still on everywhere? *yawn* Woody Harrelson is hard to dislike in anything he's in, and this is no exception, but what is with Jesse Eisenberg? He is like the poor-man's Michael Cera. Except way more annoying and unlikable. Go see a zombie movie worth seeing, like the original "Dawn of the Dead (Divimax Edition)" or the not strictly zombie pic "28 Days Later (Widescreen Edition)." Zombieland: What a load of junk, and not even any fun when considered as parody. It even manages to make Bill Murray seem boring and unfunny. Glad I saw it on demand for five bucks instead of paying for it permanently. To wrap up: Just plain awful.

5Wicked!!!  Mar 09, 2010
Best zombie movie ever! Yes, better than Night of the Living Dead and 28 Days Later! It's that good. Coolest zombie movie ever. Woody H. was a real superstar. Funniest and scariest. Very scary and creepy. Big trucks, a hot chick, lots of guns and ammo, sweet references to Texas, lots of gory zombie kills, inspirational rules to live by, and God loves Rednecks! Yeah!!!! One hell of a wild movie ride! Genius....makes me want to go to the movies again and I'm not happy I missed seeing this at the theaters. You can blame the Watchmen movie for making me not trust movies anymore. But I absolutely loved this movie...I wish I had seen it in the theaters. Got to now get it in Bluray to keep the madness going on all possible levels.
